Klaas Sybranda is an Australian software architect, entrepreneur, and designer whose career spans graphic design, publishing, hospitality, and enterprise software development. Born in the Netherlands and raised in Western Australia, he has built a diverse portfolio of ventures that reflect a consistent ability to identify emerging opportunities and translate them into practical, commercially viable systems.
Sybranda began his career in the creative industries, co-founding early ventures such as BYM before establishing Sybranda Advertising in Perth. He later co-founded Apple Graphics and Auto Shopper Magazine, combining design, publishing, and marketing into scalable business models.
A shift toward technology in the mid-1980s marked a defining transition in his career. While working with Veritas Computers in regional Victoria, Sybranda developed software expertise that would underpin his future ventures, alongside founding The Grainery Restaurant.
In the early 1990s, he co-founded Intouch Technology Group, delivering specialised ticketing systems for ski resorts globally. The company was acquired by Trojan Holdings in 2013.
Today, Sybranda continues to develop technology platforms including Altima Linux, ROKPOS, and Gotoogle, while also operating Freshwater Plantation and the Starfish Beach Bar in Vanuatu.
His work reflects a rare combination of creative thinking, technical depth, and entrepreneurial execution.
