Klaas Sybranda is an Australian graphic designer and software architect born in the Netherlands and raised in Western Australia. The founder of Apple Graphics - Auto Shopper Magazine - Intouch Technology Group and Groupacumen, and currently is the owner of Freshwater Plantation and Starfish Beach Bar, Aore Island, Vanuatu - a eco resort.
Klaas Sybranda's first business venture was BYM (Boat and Yatch Maintenance) with school friend Geoff Williams. The two went on to form Sybranda Advertising in West Perth. Next came Apple Graphics with business partner Ben Jackson from an office in Nedlands and Auto Shopper Magazine. In the early eighties Klaas joined Bill Zitman and Mike James in Groupacumen. Together they produced mainly printed matter including; in 1982 over 50 annual reports were designed, produced and printed for a then impressive client list.
Moving to country Victoria in the mid eighties Klaas joined Colin
Dixon at Veritas Computers in Albury where he first met Chris Heberle and gained software skills.
Meanwhile in the home town of Mount Beauty Klaas began The Grainery
Restaurant (now Krank Handle Brewery). Chris and Klaas collaborated on individual software products where their overlapping ideals and individual strengths created better than average software.
In the early 1990's Klaas Sybranda and Chris Heberle created Intouch Technology Group to develop a ticketing system for Falls Creek Ski Resort.
Together they took the product around the world and made their mark going and doing what others could not or would not do. In 2013 Intouch was sold to Trojan Holdings. In retirement klaas still dabbles with technology focusing on and contributing to open source software projects.
